Major blocks like Gania, Khandapara, and Bhapur are facing the brunt of the swelling Mahanadi river. Over 25 villages have lost connectivity as roads are submerged under 5 feet of water. Vast stretches of agricultural land and crops like paddy and vegetables are destroyed. Local MLA Dushmant Swain and BDOs visited affected areas to assess the damage.
